AM | PM CHILD DRAMA WORKSHOP: BLUEY’S SUMMER ADVENTURES | THE STAGE PLAY

Based on the popular and award-winning children’s series Bluey, your child will explore the art of acting and pretending in this play-based, educationally interactive camp. Your child can become any of their favorite Bluey characters as they romp through summer adventures! All of the Bluey characters will be brought to life on stage with your child’s imagination!
Your child will work with a professional Educational Theatre Director, focusing on the art of improvisation through individualized instruction. Young thespians will explore a variety of the arts including acting, singing, visual art and creative movement, while creating an original improvisationally-based play. Campers will work together to help create the story in an ensemble format. This original play will be performed for parents and families on the final day of camp, complete with costume accessories, props, make-up and souvenir program.

Ninjas will create retro-style arcade games with Microsoft MakeCode Arcade. Throughout the camp, Ninjas combine the power of coding with game design to enhance their programming skills and develop games inspired by classic platformers, adventure games and more! At the end of the camp, they will bring their games to life on handheld gaming devices to play and share with friends.

Ninjas will use code to control a robot in Minecraft Education Edition®. Through simple programming, they will apply complex computer science concepts to automate the boring parts of Minecraft® such as farming, digging and more. Ninjas will use concepts like loops and functions to code crazy things like spawning hundreds of chickens from the sky! They will have a blast sharing their work and playing in a world together with their fellow campers.

This camp will teach Ninjas how to plan, design and build their own 3D world to create much more than just a game!

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is a well-loved classic children’s story written by the master storyteller Roald Dahl. Allow your child to begin a magical journey by becoming Charlie Bucket, Violet Beauregarde, Veruca Salt, Augustus Gloop and more! Your child will explore the mysterious factory of Willy Wonka while learning that kindness and honesty reign supreme. There will be singing, dancing and acting incorporated together to create an original theatrical stage version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Professional choreography will be included in this week-long ensemble building camp. This play will be performed on the final day of camp for parents and peers. Join us for Wickline Casting’s original course that started 28 years ago. Your child will work as cast and crew teams in this innovative cool camp. Script writing, storyboarding and improvisation will also be introduced. Each day is different as they create fun projects: commercials, film scenes, music videos and public service announcements. This camp is a whirlwind of hands-on fun, combining the wonders of engineering, circuitry and coding. Each day, campers will unleash their creativity as they dive into making their own paper circuits, crafting a DIY flashlight and designing a paper computer with Makey Makey. But the adventure doesn't stop there! Ninjas will also explore coding by bringing projects to life with the micro:bit and building a LEGO marble maze. To close out this amazing week, they will harness all their newfound skills to create a one-of-a-kind interactive board game, showcasing their inventive spirit and problem-solving prowess.

Boost coding skills while learning and playing with friends in this crash course on the Python programming language—no previous coding experience required! Ninjas will follow along with the Code this Game! book to build a strategy action game from the ground up in Python. As they practice game design concepts like spawning and enemy AI, they will begin to see how computer code is behind all the games and programs we use daily. Code Senseis will then guide Ninjas as they modify the game to create their own unique versions.

In this camp, Ninjas will learn how to create awesome arcade and carnival style games using MakeCode Arcade and controllers for the games with Makey Makey. Ninjas will create a fishing game, a music game and a whack-a-mole game! In the camp, Ninjas will learn how to use block code to create unique and interesting games. Ninjas will also use block code to augment and enhance their games using their own knowledge developed over the course of the camp.
